KATAKLYSM To Tour North America With DYING FETUS, ELUVEITIE And KEEP OF KALESSIN
July 21, 2008Canadian extreme metallers KATAKLYSM will embark on their first headlining tour in four years this fall. The trek will run from September 28 until October 28 and will include Relapse recording artists DYING FETUS and Nuclear Blast labelmates ELUVEITIE and KEEP OF KALESSIN.
Commented KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "We've waited a long time for this! No more 30-minute sets and pissing our fans off every time we play with people saying, 'Why didn't you play this or that?' We're fucking stoked to have been given this opportunity to really give our fans the show they deserve. We've also brought an elite line up of bands and friends to join us out on the road. Our great friends and brutal death metal legends DYING FETUS. From Europe, we're bringing Paganfest stand-out band ELUVEITIE with their pagan folk metal that will turn many heads. Last but not least, Norway's new kings of progressive black metal KEEP OF KALESSIN! A full-on metal package like that hasn't been seen in a long fucking time! In addition, there will be a special guest in regional markets that will be revealed soon…so expect a big show with full-fledged KATAKLYSM devastation. The time has finally come!"
KATAKLYSM recently re-signed with Nuclear Blast Records for the fourth time; a first in the history of the label. It is a partnership that has thrived for the past 15 years and has produced such classics as "Temple of Knowledge", "Shadows and Dust" and "In the Arms of Devastation".
As previously reported, KATAKLYSM's new album, "Prevail", sold 2,250 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD, which was mixed at AudioHammer Studios in Orlando, Florida with producer Jason Suecof, features guest solo appearances by Pat O'Brien (CANNIBAL CORPSE),Dave Linsk (OVERKILL) and producer and guitar shredder Jason Suecof himself. "Prevail" also includes a bonus DVD with a full performance recorded from a live Internet concert stream at DeepRockDrive studios in Las Vegas, NV on December 3, 2007.
